Hi everyone !
I've being taking photos for several years but never felt like a proper photographer, mainly because I never thought about my pictures. My photos were ordinary and it just looks like pictures that anyone could have taken with a phone. So recently I've read a book about compositions and exposures that inspired me to really think about my photos. I've set out today with a 50mm (normally I just use a 35mm and crop the thing I want...) and the challenge is not to crop anything but to think hard about the composition and exposure. Walking around cockatoo island which is an abandoned ship factory, I tried to find interesting objects, shadows and contrast. I find it really really difficult but for the first time I felt like a photographer walking back and fourth going up and low trying to find new perspectives. Here are the outcomes for today's work. Please let me know what you think. I would love to learn more.

Thanks!

Your link doesn't work. Photobucket don't allow links to forums anymore.

There are a lot of small images there but I cannot get them to open up using my iPad.
When I had a Account with them years ago the only way you could share your images was to copy and paste the IMG line on to your post here.
Do try that..

Ok. you are linking to an album full of photos. Don't, as people do not have the time to give you CC on a stack of photos.
Post one or two photos in your thread (you can upload them direct to our server (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=How_Do_I:How_to_post_and_link_your_photos_into_forum_threads)). If you post one or two photos you will get some good CC on them, if you link to an album full, people will say stuff like 'you have some nice photos in that bunch'. With one or two photos only, you will get CC that talks about composition, sharpness, etc... things that will help you learn.

^It's a bit vexing with Imgur without being the accountholder.
Right-click on an image and copy its "Image Location" and you get the code:
But click on a larger version and you get THE SAME code, yet posting each here
INSIDE the image tags, like that code gives you two different sized
image displays. It needs looking into. See below for the first pic...
"That code" from small image...

"That code" from a larger image

As you can see, the larger image is re-sized by AP to fit here, so that's the one you should use.

You will not receive CC on your images here.
You need to go down to the next section to CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIQUE Members Photos and Post them there
