View Full Version : Lomo?
Hi everybody!
I've decided decided to have a crack at lomography! No, not with the LC-A but with the Fisheye 2, seems like a fun camera to have. I haven't bought the camera yet because I want to get some opinion from you guys, has anyone handled these cameras before? Short comings, problems with the camera, lens, annoying stuff in general?
My eyes are set on the Fisheye 2 but then I'm also leaning towards the Action Sampler Flash, probably going to the shop itself tomorrow to purchase either one of them.

just do it... I think short comings are part of the Lomo fun.
I have not got one yet... but will by christmas party time.
I was talking with the shop attendant and he went to a party and put 35mm film in the Holga. after each photo he didnt wind the film all the way... at the end of the party he had 36 frames all connected. I thought that was cool!
Haha, I can imagine the faces of the people at the camera shop after the film developed
here is an interesting how to do lomo photography in photoshop

OK I guess I'm being dense and old. There is no real explanation of what Lomo is..can one of you explain so that I can understand?

Lomo is an old Russian camera.... that takes a very "distinctive" photo.
This from the web page I posted above.
"From the first time I saw a photo that looked like this, I wanted to shoot one of my own. But, for the longest time I couldn’t figure it out how people took photos look like this. Then one day searching the web, I realized I needed a Lomo LC-A camera. This is a Russian made camera that was a knock off of another camera. It is poorly made and by Japanese camera standards, a bad picture taker too. As the legend goes, somewhere in the 1990’s a cult following developed and hasn’t stop since."
Went out and bought it (fisheye2) today.
What can I say? The build quality is expected i guess, the barrel of the lens has a extremely rough bare metal finish to it which seems to catch my len cloth everytime i try to wipe the lens. Also no coating and rough finish on the front piece of glass makes cleaning a nightmare :crzy:
Good thing is that its affordable and takes 35mm film, I came back and found an old roll of FP4 and stuck it in straight away, no problems what so ever. Now I'll just have to start taking some pics, hopefully the film is still usable, no idea how long I've had it for...

I'll be looking forward to seeing what you can do with it.

I have recently bought the Fisheye 2, and so far it is fantastic. However, does anyone know which external flash I am able to use on this camera? I can't find the information I need.

Using 50mm f1.8 on FF, then reworked on PS
