Just a quick question. Why am I receiving email notifications for subscribed threads (I have the setting as "Through control panel only")?

They're quite magical indeed. When they're at their peak I love wandering through the rainforest at night (I love it anyway, but when there's heaps of these around it's extra special)

Most likely your browser. Most browsers now include a notifications option. Google your browser name (ie Chrome) and how to turn off browser notifications.
