This critically endangered species was sighted a few months back at the Werribee poo ponds.

Just a heads-up if you happen to be in the Werribee area as the way things are going the Orange-bellied Parrot may not be around in the wild for much longer. A very sad prognosis for this pretty little bird that flies across the Bass Strait from Tasmania to winter in Southern Australia.

This was an interesting read on the efforts being made to save it in it's wild habitat. http://www.smh.com.au/good-weekend/can-a-lastditch-intervention-save-the-orangebellied-parrot-20170817-gxycg2.html

They winter in Vic. and S.A. as the article Kev says. This is the time of year they head back to Tassie for the breeding season. :crossed:
For those of you in Vic (and other places I suppose) keep an eye on this place for unusual sightings near you ..... http://www.eremaea.com/BirdlineRecentSightings.aspx?Birdline=1
As the Mods note says, they will not publish sightings of OBP.
