I am looking for camera club.

Dear friends,
I am new to Melbourne and to Australia.
I have nearly settled now, and I started searching for photographic, events, clubs etc. both in Australia and Melbourne.

Probably I wish to became members of APS, AIPP .. etc. later, but now I need something local & active to warm up.

Could anyone advice or assist me?

I have already checked the internet and the clubs' web pages. I have some club names in my mind to visit.
But in the pages, pieces of information are so limited and standard.
That's why I asked to the forum if any member could tell about his/her club, and advise me to come.

I'd suggest finding a club that suits geographically. I could recommend my club to you (Waverley) but it's right out on the other side of town. Melbourne Camera Club is located in South Melbourne, and I am a member there as well, but I'm not sure which clubs are close to Caroline Springs. Given that you might be making the trip pretty frequently, it's really a good idea to look at the VAPS lists first to find one close to home, and then go from there. Most clubs are pretty welcoming, but you really need to work out which ones are a logical choice in terms of access.

Macedon Ranges club at Riddles Creek is not far geographically but Essendon might be a good starting point. Just down the freeway

I also thought about Essendon and Williamstown as a start.
I have not thought about Riddles Creek, but it can be another alternative. Thanks for reminding me the outer towns.
Next week I decide to will visit their regular meetings.
And to night I am attending to a light painting meet-up in the city.
