Star Wars Holographic Tech, comes to a camera near you

Australian Scientists have created a way to produce Star Wars style holographic images.

How long will it before we can take a photo, and walk around/through it in our lounge rooms, rather than looking at it on a screen?

The digital world we now live in continually surprises me, and yet, as much as I find it all fascinating, I mostly would just prefer to live in a more simplistic world, where communities and neighbourhoods cared more for each other and communicated by physically talking to and visiting each other, helping each other out, etc without relying so much on technology ..... sometimes I wish there was a 'wormhole' in time and space or a 'stargate' where I could re-visit the 70's-80's, but I guess I'll just have to wait for someone technically smart to invent that! :D
