Can Anyone Help?

I am having a hard time in locating a replacement Solar/LED fitment
Its from my mum grave as Its a fitment that goes into a vase with a clear screwtop
Basically the weather killed it


Any ideas where I can find another ?
Its measurements are
95mm Height with the LED on top
45mm diameter base
There was a solar panel just under the two leads
The panel was 25mm W and 30mm height
The vase depth is approx the same height as the solar LED
The unit was suppose to screw in place but nothing last these days
then the glass on top
Any help would be fantastico

Hmm! -- Talk about something out-of-the-way...
I cannot help directly, except to ask if you've yet gone to any local
hardware stores (gardening section) or the such like:confused013:confused013:confused013

If it is the red LED that has failed, it could probably be replaced, assuming that the main housing is undamaged and will fit back into its socket.

If you know someone with an electrical background, they might be able to work out the voltage/current/polarity of the red LED and solder a suitable replacement in its place?

I would not attempt this is you do not have an electrical background, as you can blow up LEDs not to mention risk of electrical shocks, damage to other equipment, etc.

Its been weathered damaged and the solar panel cracked but the LED is OK
Thought that if I find can't the same one it can go longer or I can find a panel small enough

my hubby is in the electronics trade - I will ask him when he wakes up.
He has a terrible cough at the moment :( and been up part of the night, so it may be a few more hours yet, but hopefully you will have an answer later today :D

my apologies - hubby ended up in Emergency Department in RAH for most of yesterday. They let him come home last night and he is finally sleeping peacefully. I will ask him when he is feeling a little better :) who would have thought a bad cough could lead to so much drama - his tongue swelled up and he couldn't breath and he also has the early stages of pneumonia ......... in summer!

CathyC - Hope hubby makes a speedy recovery. Not quite the Christmas you imaged :(
My partner had pneumonia in summer right out of the blue. Didn't have any cough at all. Took a 10 day stay in hospital to sort it out, so hope it all works out well for you.

cupic - If the light is not fixable can you buy some sort of total replacement light. Solar lights come in all shapes and sizes these days. Hope your mum's light shines bright again soon. What a good idea.

Hubby suggests that possibly your everyday solar garden light may have a suitable sized solar panel and rechargeable battery, and the system is designed to run a LED. The fitting should be easily cannibalized for the bits you need. Just pay particular attention to the polarity of the solar panel, battery & LED connections. You won't damage the LED by reverse connecting it, but you will damage the battery and/or panel by reverse connecting them to each other. Of course, being approx $2.95 each, you can buy two or more solar garden lights just in case you damage one.
