Hanging around eating mango's

Was at the tree of knowledge (gossip) at the wharf yesterday, and noticed some lorikeets feeding on the mango's took a few shots calibrating my camera, when a car pulled up underneath, restricting my opportunities, then a friend turned up wanting to share a yarn, so put the camera down. Not the best pics, but just wanted to share the moment with these happy little critters:D Cheers.

They are certainly enjoying that feed feathers, I like that last image with the Fig Bird in it both Birds seem quite at home there.

Thanks Mary Anne:) You guessed it right when saying they look at home there. The fig bird flew to the end of a branch where there was a well camouflaged nest, and swapped shifts with its mate to incubate the eggs.:)
There was a bit of noise of course, but also the occasional chewed up mango falling from the tree:eek: Cheers.

I ate a big fat juicy mango this arvo. Most satisfying piece of fruit I've had for a while.
And there was a lorikeet in the house that got none of it.:)

LOL:D the passion fruit get smashed by the cockatoo's, so you gotta get up early to get your share:D

I'm jealous - seems none of the roadside sellers around here grow Bowens, which your photo looks like, and never get them in the supermarkets either.

Rest easy Lplates:) Although they look similar, they're commons, which are a bit stringy, but l don't mind them, as they're lovely and sweet, and cost nothing:D Mind you, there are some bowens accessible in other parts of town, but you gotta be quick:) Cheers.

Nice set, love the second. Glad you have mangoes, around here and Bowen they are scarce. Not one on our Common, which is usually loaded with enough for birds and us. cheers marty.
