I don't know if I am imagining things, but the images taken with the Sigma 18-200 on my D7200 are not as sharp as they could/should be. Perhaps the lens technology is a bit dated?

Are you using AF?

Have you tried using Manual focus?

Do some controlled tests. If there is a discrepancy, it may need AF micro-adjustment.
If it is a late model lens it should be lens-dock compatible.

If not, then at worst a return of the lens.

Thanks, will do some tests AF and manual focus. The lens is about 5 years old, so no chance of returning it.

Not an uncommon complaint!
These all in one superzooms can be hit and miss with respect to manufacturing tolerances, and thus operation.

Is there any specific focal length that it's not as sharp as it could/should be?
That is, is it OK at say 18-50mm, or 50-100mm and not sharp at say 250-300mm?
That's the usual complaint that most users report.

Best way for us to help is to show at least a couple of images of the issue you want help with.

ps. normally it's best to do controlled tests, but sometimes a quick couple of snaps can be enough to start the process too!
