Hi Mandy.
Welcome to AP. I don't know about Penrith itself, but this is a VERY LARGE virtual group:D
Later you might ask in the state based forums (pick NSW):

Meanwhile, have a look in the Library for resources for Beginners, and the "How do I" section for doing stuff here.
Am.

G'day Mandy.
Welcome to a good place to play and learn.
Don't be afraid to ask questions and make comments. (I like that photo because .... . How did you do ...., it looks quite good.) then you can post some photos. Nothing wrng with saying "I was trying to do .... , not sure I got it so how should I do it next time.:)
Just getting involved here will help you learn.:th3:
My siss lives in Penrith. Don't visit her often, but if you get active here it will be a reminder to contact you for an outing to help you and your photography when I'm down that way. Of cause if you get active here, after a short period, you will decide that you can do without my help.:D:lol2:

Quick question - I'm working with a Canon EOS 600d camera & want to purchase a macro lens . Any recommendations :clogo::flash:

All depends on your budget, if you want IS *Image Stabilization* or VR *Vibration Compensation* expect to pay more.
A Macro 1.1 lens between 90mm-105mm is a good size.. Tamron, Canon, Sigma are all good
Worried about getting stung or bitten try the 150mm.
