Congs. Now check it out carefully.

It only Locks/Unlocks with zoom fully in - at f=50mm. If lens is pointing downwards the zoom will tend to creep.

Look through the lens from both ends and make sure it does not have an fungal or other blemishes on the surfaces.
Set the OS to position 1. It will only engage when you press/half press the shutter.
On pos 2 it is always on, and uses up more power.
Check the working of the AF.

PS To lock/unlock, you sometimes have to "wiggle" the zoom ring a little.

Wait till you're out in the bush with it for a few minutes!.

You reckon you have knee issues now ... They ain't nothing! .... compared to what you're about to experience :p
(And there's no excuse for not getting some upper body fitness now :D)

TG. The body fitness is a "myff". - Just look at me:o:rolleyes:
OTOH, you'll get used to it in NO time. To boot, it's a well-balanced lens.
