I do not bend to well any more and with the new knee not working to it's full capacity yet, I was having trouble tacking shots close to the ground. ie: feather in the rocks. So I had to come up with something. Do you think this will work.

I've got that VERY tripod. Bought in 1974, how about yours?

I use my old cheap tripod (read "as whippy as wet spaghetti" ... ) as a flash stand.

Same here.

There's no point selling it for next to nothing(and losing money on it) .. and then when you need it, it's not there any more.

:th3:

What you are trying to do here sure does work.
Many tripods have that feature.

Necessity is the mother of invention - looks like it will fit the bill.

My first tripod now lives in our van and with a screw on plate holds our Baby Q when travelling. Even if the ground is uneven our BBQ is level:D

it will work. Some of the Manfrotto range are designed to do this very thing. Seems back in the 60's you must have been a bit of a Mod.

You can add me to that club .... I'm still using it to this day - very sturdy - heavy, but sits like a rock.
