Hi all, when I have spare time at work I like to jump on the site for a sticky. When I open a thread with a pic I get a cropped version. Is this a setting I need to change of is it a site format issue with iPhones? It does not matter if the phone is portrait or landscape. I have added an example of Hamster's latest Seascape...

What are you using to get onto the site with that phone?

(Also, moved thread to General Help.)

I have much the same problem with my HP Android tablet running the infamous KitKat and Chrome. Sometimes the site will scroll horizontally, but mostly not.

Accessed via home WiFi network.

Have you tried Tapatalk? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quoord.tapatalkpro.activity&hl=en

(Must say, though, having installed it, I hardly ever use it because of the small screen of the phone:rolleyes:

Thanks AM, I saw a few members reply via taptalk so I installed it, navigating through it now.

I have the same issue on my iPad (and asked about it in a thread a while back). JK mentions it scrolling and it never has, until the other night when it did it for one image.

Strangely, I don't get the problem on iPhone via Tapatalk.

Yes I'm currently trialing tapatalk, I get full images. It just changes the look/format of the site, I feel as if I'm missing out on something...lol

It's just simplified for iPhone sized screens, and not too badly IMHO. You've just got to work out where things are, and deal with slightly more limited posting options, but generally everything you need is there.

I can figure why people take photos with phones but can't figure why they want to look at quality photos on them.
I don't have a mobile phone  so dismiss me as a luddite.:) (aren't DSLRs a blessing though:))

I tend not to look at images on the phone, but some of the apps like Tapatalk make it easier to respond to posts when on the move. The other apps like DoF calculator, ND calculator and light meter are quite nice when out and about for working out exposures and settings etc.

I found a similar problem on my iPhone, but it was only when using Safari to browse the forum.

Tapatalk works fine.

I believe the problem is with how Safari renders images that are wider than the pixel count of the screen. It seems to truncate the image rather than resize it. I don't believe that is something that can be set/fixed by the site admins, but rather a problem with Safari that needs to be addressed by Apple...

I'm not one who can regularly get on the computer, hence my sparodic posts & visits, but I'm trying tapatalk as we speak & it's an okay substitute although not ideal.
