Was doing the weekly food shopping in Coles today and could not believe my eyes when I seen this big bird on the A/C duct.
Grabbed my iPhone out of my handbag and took a shot to far away

So I walked down the isle to get a better shot this is a tight crop.

Asked about it at the checkout to be told someone was coming to get it
I would have liked to have seen that as its no small supermarket :D
He was looking for the fish section.
Regards
Glen1
Would have been interesting to watch them try and catch or herd it out.

This is my sort of birding ! Much easier than waiting out in those cold hides at dawn for hours on end. You can probably order a coffee and cake while you watch him.
It may have been buying ingredients given it is a COOK-a-burra.:(

That's probably why the Kooka was in Coles - hoping for such a snack.

Wow, that's incredible. Must be looking for some sausages. However, looking at where he is, he's definitely in the wrong section. :)

Thats a good one Lance Yes it is in the wrong section, not enough bits to chew on there :laughing1:
Probably the smartest kookaburra around.
Think about, who wants to be outside in the cold or the heat or the wet fighting for food all day everyday when he can just setup a home in a dry, air conditioned place and wait on the human staff to bring out those free tasters of cooked meat.
Just swoop on down for a feed whenever hes hungry, all day every day :)

Yes you could be right
Well I worry about a swallow that is flying around our local Coles competitor. How will it survive.
And I can't really get into the humour here 'cause I'm worried for the bird.:confused013

Well Mark a Little Humour goes a long way and I rather like the replies, there is no reason to be like that.
And the Wildlife carers are on the ball here dont know about the ones down in Mudgee where you live ?
What they do is come in the night and catch them, the same thing happened in our local Coles just down that road when there were four sparrows in it.

There is s bird stuck in my local Woolworths that I have been looking at for months now . She is the Butcher Bird !
An another one in the Deli is always singing to herself . I call her the Humming Bird!

Actually, now that silly song they sing (at Coles, not AT LOWES!) makes sense.
"Down! Down!" means they are only trying to get that bird (and any copy-catbirds) to come back down:nod:
Chorus: "Oh, yeah!"
