started with photography back in the 1980's but had a long break from using an SLR.
When digital came out I went to a compact and became a snap shooter.
I dont know, not looking through a viewfinder took away something from the way I took photos.
A couple of months ago I brought myself a DSLR, and, just love having a viewfinder to look through again and I am regaining my excitement and love of photos once more.
Feeling a bit like I need L plates with the DSLR but enjoying the experience, I missed the focus with this one, but it sums thing up for me at present!
Hope to join in the fun!

G'day jolebau, it takes a bit of time to learn this digital stuff. PPing you own photos instead of having someone else develop your photos is challenging.:(
So you will know a lot about what's here http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book but you may find a couple of things helpful.
Never to late to get involved in the 2015 weekly members challenge. Might give you a reason to try different things as to get into your new camera .....http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?190-Member-Challenges-52-2015
See you around AP hopefully.:th3:

thanks all for the welcome :)
Mark L did you hear the ohhhhhh when I read about raw? Thank you, it actually did explain things and make some sense!
Still toddling along with the camera yet, finding out that it has capacities, but still havent found out how to do them yet. In some ways film was a lot easier!
