I spotted these small ants on my kitchen bench, and resisted the urge to spray them with the good old Pea Beau when I saw what they were doing.

1. Hmmmm. What's that? A nice grain of rice.

2. Up we go.

3. Ok, sideways now.

4. All hands on deck! This is slippery.

5. Alright, not too sure where this is going now...

6. No....they're not, are they?....

7. And this is the point where human intervention is called for.

As entertaining as this little trek was, I had to end the party early with a burst of the afore-mentioned Pea Beau. Luckily, the rice never made electrical contact.

Awww, what an incredible little creature an ant is. What amazing team work they display. How strong and courageous they are too.

A very interesting little photostory Glen; thanks for sharing.

They are such interesting little creatures but don't they do some damage. Great story.

A great and enjoyable photo story, well told even without captions. Ants sure know about teamwork. They must be good communicators by some means. Thank you for posting.

great sequence! I see you omitted the last few frames that tell the story of the Bringer Of Death from Above, and the writhing in pain that happened afterwards.... :P

Yes I also enjoyed the story with its unfortunate end. In South Africa they have a Pea Beau product called DOOM. So they sadly got DOOMED. They were such hard workers.
