No idea what improvements; plenty of scope to make it exceed the Nik D7200
Goodo. That might mean there will be a few K3's on the second hand market, especially as the rumored full frame is coming out later in the year. I love my K5 II, but recently I used it and my FA100 f2.8 macro for a spider web shot, with very ordinary results. Then I grabbed my new 'compact' camera, an Olympus OM-D EM-10 with 40-150 kit lens, and got immediately better results thanks in no small part to the AA filter less sensor. I'm still just a little bit disgusted that my roughly $1700 Pentax kit has been bettered by a $700 mirror less camera.
Anyone want to buy a lightly used (6500 actuations) K5 II?
Regards

An interesting development. I (try to) use a K-30, and have been getting dangerously close, in the last few days, to actually making a decision on a new K-3.
This news has well and truly put that decision on hold, at least until we see all the details on the K-3ii...and the price.
Cheers,
Terry
The K-3 is a very good camera, I will be interested to see what improvements are implemented in the ii .. They would have to be very compelling to make an existing K-3 user upgrade.

I get the impression most of this news is a result of using Google's translation tools on a japanese story.
I think the "Improved Anchimoare function" means "improved anti-moire function"
Nothing that would make a K-3 owner upgrade
I think you might be right.
What is being reported thus far may not be the whole story and we don't have long to wait for that.
Cheers,
Terry
The first preliminary review with full specs is here http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/pentax-k3-ii/pentax-k3-iiA.HTM
As Kym has said, probably not a lot to encourage upgrade from K-3.
I would prefer a built-in flash for my use.
There probably isn't a lot to persuade me to choose the K-3ii over the K-3...I'll have to think a bit more about it and also see the local price.
Cheers,
Terry
I see RC Kennedy now have K-3ii, body only, for pre-order, available for $1349. There are also body and lens packages for pre-order.
Cheers,
Terry
