Hi!
i'm a 59 year old semi retired farmer from country NSW living on 50 acres near Young.
i have recently returned to photography after a long hiatus and am (very) slowly coming to grips with digital SLRs after a few years with point and click cameras f various brands and capabilities.
my first camera was a Kodak Instamatic that I was given for Christmas in 1964. I progressed through a number of 110 format cameras until I lashed out in 1976 and purchased an Olympus OM2 on the day they were released worldwide. There were only 7 in Australia at that stage. The body and 50mm f1.8 lens cost me $499.00 in 1976!
that camera shots thousands of roll od film, either Kodak Vericolor Ii Professional or Kodachrome 64. My photography gradually slipped into the background after I married and started raising a family.
fast forward to 2014 and a once in a lifetime trip to Europe. With a limited budget, I purchased a Nikon D3200 twin lens package (18-55 and 55-200mm) lenses. I returned to Australia just over 6000 pictures later...
Currently saving up for some lighting to set up a small studio to indulge my main interest of portrait photography.
also just retrieved the OM2 from the attic, fitted fresh batteries and tracked down a roll of film. More to come there.
well, that's me.
