Crop Sensors vs Full Frame :: Crop Or Crap?

It's really a bit of Male Bovine Excrement.

Sensor sizes vary and some suit different applications.
If you follow the logic of the vid then we all should rush out and get a :plogo: 645Z and forget the small 35mm format.
Which in effect was the attitude in the film days, i.e. 35mm *(aka digital full frame - a freakin marketing hype term) was a small format and medium (120 format, either 6 x 4.5 cm or 6 x 6cm) was what the pros used.

FYI I started with a 120 format Kodak bellows camera when I was about 10yo and a light meter. Dad taught me. :cool:

True, and I think the biggest point that Zack was trying to point out is that, at the end of the day, it's the photographer that makes the image, not the format.

And if people really want to argue about what's better (full or crop), it's as you say, it depends, and I think Zack was just taking a stab at it saying, well, full is nothing compared to large. :)

I'm intrigued by these 'large' sensors now :P

I think this video did the rounds here a 2ple of months ago. (-Or was that on the DPR forums??)
Either way, it got panned. - No doubt he got paid for his lip-service:rolleyes:
