I am a senior who has decided to delve into photography. I think as you get a little older you slow down a bit and see the beauty in so many things and I would like to try and capture some of it. My husband is a bit of a geek and knows a lot but it is all a bit daunting for me. I am looking forward to critics of my photos and applying the useful comments. I have a Canon 700d the 2 kit lens, 60mm macro and the canon 24-105. I really enjoy Macro and would love to do night sky. Thanks for listening.

Hello Frieda :action66: and Welcome to AP.. There are quite a few of us Seniors here, and I totally agree with you about having the time to see the many beautiful things around us and capture them.
I see that you have someone who can help you, though if you want to have a go yourself have a read on the New To Photography Forum on this :url: (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book)
You will also find Tips and Hints a the Top of the Forums .. I like shooting Macro also so will look forward to seeing what you post on the Macro Forum :2smile:

G'day Frieda.
Good on you for taking up something new to you.
There's plenty of help to be had here. Don't be afraid to ask questions, make comments and generally get involved. 'tis what makes forums work.:th3:
If you're looking for a reason to take a particular photo each week , and learn different things, is not to late to get involved in this years members challenge .... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?188-Member-Challenges-52-2014.

Thanks Mary Anne for the welcome at least I know there is someone out there. I don't know that the husband is much of a help, because he gets a bit technical, and it all goes a bit overmy head. Besides I want to do it my way, make my own mistakes. As soon as I can work out how to post the shots I will load some. Thanks.

Welcome Frieda,
Good to see someone from the area on the forum. Nothing wrong in being a bit technical or a geek. Looking forward to see some photos.

This should help ... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=How_Do_I:How_to_post_and_link_your_photos_into_forum_threads

Particular the second and third images. That's how to post straight to AP from your computer. (the magic paperclip :))
