View Full Version : Great Bower Bird Bower
I was thrilled to find this on our last trip up to the Walsh River, I have never seen one before !!!
It wasn't the easiest thing to shoot .... Lots of branches in the way and very low down, its not the best place to lay on the ground !!!
Anyway this was the best I managed & thought you might be interested to see it too

Thats amazing Cargo and a shame we cannot cc on this Forum
I have never seen that before, its so different from the Satin bower birds bower, did you manage to get a pic of the Great Bower Bird.
Ain't nature wonderful.:)
And where would they be if one species didn't leave colourful things laying around for the birds to collect.:(
Wonder what they used before plastic?
No bird in sight Mary Anne :)
Just more shells and flowers I guess Mark, bit boring though ;)
Great find and thanks for sharing it.
It obviously has a seafood fetish and may be a South Sydney supporter too.

Thanks for sharing, it is most interesting. I have seen a couple of these bowers in Cape York and they have all had white pebbles, shells etc around them. I had previously thought that bowerbirds collect blue objects.

Really interesting and something many of use probably will never see. Amazing number of shells around - would make a crunchy bed.
Coincidently came across this today :) ... It was good to read about it in depth
