just grabbed one of these from bun -nings, $39 I know I know its not a pelican BUT, 465l x360d x 175h aint a bad size, water resistant, air tight and dust proof pick and plug padding. worth I go I thought.......... or maybe not lol

That's OK, Paul. A young matron with kids in tow picked up a "pay for" plastic bag at the supermarket today because, as she said,
she couldn't be seen walking around carrying a packet of cheese slices.

Anyway, so let us know how this pans out as a camera case. The preceding anecdote is bonus

I got a similar case, but from Sup** Cheap. Around $80.
It's the bigger case and it holds my D700 with the 120-300mm Sigma and hood attached.
D800 with the 28-300mm VR
D800E with the 12 - 24mm sigma
3 other lenses, spare batteries, all filters and one speedlight.
Weighs a bloody tonne. But it's all there in one box.

I've also done done modifications by adding some Velcro strips for the outside, and that's to hold the tripod
