Smart Phone Light Meter

Is anyone using one of the various smart phone light meters? If so what are your thoughts on them and how accurate are they and recommendations as to which is the best free one or paid one?

I've used them before and I have not found them to be any more accurate than the built in light meter in a camera. My guess is that an attachment of some sort would be far more reliable because of the specialist capability of reading the light. This is the attachment kind that I mean http://ww.lu.mu

The only issue I've seen with the reviews is a lack of flash integration for most (including the attachment ones)

They can be useful if you need a reading from a different perspective, but as MissionMan said, they aren't anything accurate. But they'll give you a good idea at least.

Only problem is they aren't any good for strobe as there's no way to capture a flash, it's constant reading - at least from the ones I've found so far.

I am interested to hear experience on this also - to be honest I didn't realize there ws such a thing for smart phones

If you go down this path, I'd recommend the attachment version which I plugs into the iPhone/Android device. Although it doesn't cater for flash, a lot of people may never use this so it may not be an issue. The cost is pretty cheap in comparison ($100 for the light meter attachment and the app is generally free) and at least you know you are getting an accurate reading. The tests of the one I listed were considered to be pretty accurate.
