I use a canon 60D and have the normal 17-85 and a 50mm f1.8 but wondering if there is a cheapish lens with crisp shots with a fairly low f stop (maybe 3ish) that would suit my car photography. I do a lot of light painting and daytime car shots, but I want a faster lens and short focal length as being a 'half' sensor the 50mm is more like 80mm and I have to stand so far back. Would like something down around 20mm.
Don't care about brand and would buy 2nd hand if anyone had anything suitable in VGC.

Samyang make some well priced fast manual focus primes which seem to get good reviews and especially with people who like to do video, on ebay they go for new - 24mm f1.4 for a tad over $600 and 35mm 1.4 a bit under $500.

The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 would fit nicely with what you already have. Reasonably priced and performs well wide open at 11mm.

Thanks ill look at all those online. I was also looking at a tamron 17-50, 2.8 as has good optics according to Ken Rockwell site?? And only in the $300- range

The Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 is a great fast lens works well on my 40D, it could be out of your budget though.

yeah I've found a few great lens's (including the canon 10-22 EF-S) but I've spent too much on other gear lately and slowly building. The Tamron suits my style as its only real drawback was its image stabiliser system sucks, however I mainly leave mine off as on tripod a lot and its half the price of the canon but has great optics. The review I read on the sigma advised it is very clear optically but again double the price.
