Toni, I love these reminders from our past.

With this shot I'd think about toning down the brightness in the clouds, it tends to draw my eye away from the subject, which is the 'house'.

I feel a darker, gloomy type presentation may suit this shot. And try to avoid clipping the subject, ie the rear of the roof.

This is the house my grandmother was born in. It's still being lived in which is good.

Great to find parts of family history still with a physical presence after all this time.

In 2010 we thought we'd found the street that one set of Great Great Grand Parents had lived in in 1855, only to find out 2 years later that the Hobart Library had given me the wrong map and what was Queen St in 1890 (the actual date of the map) was not Queen St in 1855. Then we found a map dated Dec 1854 with the correct street and it actually showed the 3 houses that were in the street then. In 2012 we went there hoping to be able to work out which house it would be but 2 are now car parks and the remaining one would have been too good for an indentured servant to have been put up in.
