Just getting started.

Hi, I stumbled onto this site by accident. I'm not sure what to expect but I'm willing to give it a go. I consider myself to be an "intermediate" level enthusiast. I'm keen to learn as much as I can to improve the hobby I love. I use a Canon 60D and have a selection of decent but not pro level lenses. I don't have a preferred type of shooting. I just love snapping. I love shooting my beautiful granddaughter and the rest of my family when they allow it. But also love getting out and shooting the sunset. I enjoy showing my shots to people I know but as yet haven't had the courage to show 'em on line. Be gentle with me.

Thanks Mark L I think I've just managed to reduce a photo enough to be accepted. Not one of my favorites but it's a start.

Still just experimenting with reducing the file sizes. This one was shot at the Belair Conservation park on my 60D and my Sigma 105mm F/2.8 OS HSM Macro lens. Am I posting them in the right spot?

You're new here, so you can post anything in the New to Photography CC (Beginners) for a while.
Otherwise there's the Places (Land and Sea Scapes) for your first photo and Nature (Birds) for the second.
You'll get more feedback and help posting photos there.
Like the pelican. Not sure that it's over exposed, probably needs to have that exposure reduced and highlights pulled back in PP.
