Hello Will and Welcome to AP.. You will find lots of help by clicking the Library Button up top of the page also have a look on this :url: (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book)
RAW Guess it all depends what program you use. I am still using the one that came with my Canon camera, there are lots of Tutorials on line which can help also.

A lot of people who know a lot don't look at these intro threads.

Of cause you could post a photo anywhere and ask how it could be processed better.
