I had read reviews of the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED but had never seen one in the flesh so to speak. I had the chance to have a play with a sample the other day and it seems to be as good as everyone claims.
The sharpness is on a par with an old model Tamron 90mm we have but the Nikkor is far superior when it comes to colour, contrast and chromatic aberration as well as focussing very rapidly.
I really think that it is probably the best bargain in lenses from Nikon for a long time. A couple of hand held sample shots. Both auto white balance, 6400 iso and NEF files converted to jpeg with an in camera picture control applied.
