New member here who recently stumbled across this site. I live in the Adelaide Hills and have become increasingly interested in photography as my skills improve. I've certainly learnt the lesson that although good gear is nice, composition and vision rules and under-pinning technical skills can really help.
I put put myself down as an intermediate photographer but I've got a ways to go. For years I used a Canon 40D with a kit lens initially then a 17-55 f/2.8 lens. I took the bold step of cashing in years of frequent flier points to recently acquire a Canon 5D MkIII with a 24-105 f/4L lens. Next step for me is trying to take night /star shots and I am hoping Santa will bring me a 16-35 f/2.8L lens to help with this task.
