Stumbled across this collection of cool places to shoot.
Apart from the SS Ayrfield, which many of you have shot, most are a little hard to get to:)

Hmm, my progress so far...
I have a photo from inside a cooling tower at Stanwell (during construction) with a cheap film camera 20 odd years ago , and a shot in Sorrento looking down at that same mill from 4 years ago (albeit with a humble P&S back in my pre DSLR days )....but the rest might take me a while to tick off....:D

Nice find, Battleship Island in Japan featured in the film Skyfall and would be an amazing place to be able to spend some time. I think the coloured houses in Taiwan have since been demolished.
The Japanese have a name for UrbEx called Haikyo, here is a link to a great site for it- http://www.michaeljohngrist.com/ruins-gallery/#sthash.5RrUy7ti.dpbs
There is enormous amount of it around in Japan, mostly as a result of the recession they've been in for some years now and a strange cultural phenomenon where buildings are rarely renovated or re-used, they're generally built and left to decay from day one.

I'm not going to go into the over cooked process that some of these have ;) (actually, there is only 1 or 2)...but there are certainly some awesome sites.

I'm curious why they targeted that particular site in Detroit. There is so much in that city, you could just use a collective 'Detroit'.

Oh to win Lotto so I can do nothing else but travel the world trying to take photos like these.
