I was too eager to put the lens on , and it fogged / fumed up on the inside ( drying paint ) , I still got off a shot or so ...
I was surprised it actually works ..
I peeled the pringles can a little pulling off the lens , so now its not quite as nice looking ( put black tape over the tear ) ...
Looks like I have to wait for the paint to dry ...
Image is un-cropped , simply down sized ...
I used :
Plastic body cap
Pringles Can
Magnifying lens
More pictures soon
I didn't get the plastic body cap until I realised that's where the magnifying lens is held.
Assuming the drying paint was inside the "tube" and black?
I'm interested in how this goes.

Here are some pictures :
Its a Pringles tube .. The base has a body cap glued to it , hole cut .. So the bottom is like a normal lens ( Almost )
The the tube was sprayed inside and out ( you can see the tape covering the peeled part of the can )
The front of the tube , will have a magnifying lens fitted ( you can see where it was in the picture )
And Viola , a Home made Macro Lens ... I was worried about the length of the can , but it seems to be ok ...
So once the paint has dried , and no longer fuming , I should have a working Macro Lens ...
I might do this again :
and try for a more professional looking DIY , since I botched this one ...
Look out zeiss,.

Why not silver inside.
???? Was spraying with the black paint , so black :confused013 Not sure , but black might help with the light ? ( Flare or reflection on the inside )
I hope the paint will be dry Now , so maybe some clear pictures tomorrow

OK !
The tube is still fuming , I fixed the lens by wiping it with white vinegar , it no longer fogs up ..
But the mirror and sensor are fogging up :confused013 , some times you cant win ...
Another issue , without an aperture , its supper wide open , like maybe F2 or something ...
It might want a fixed aperture ?
Hmmmm , if I were to do it again ?
Maybe not paint the inside , maybe line it with some black card/paper ...
Make a fixed aperture out of the black card/paper ...
Still , a bit of fun I guess !
Good to see someone having a go at making different items. Experiment some more and you WILL get it right cheers Brian
