Hi all.
I found this in a shed clean-up. Any ideas what it is?

Could be for turning off/on water mains or the like.
My initial thought was for a peg lifter/ railway spike lifter.
The more I thought about it the more options came up though, manhole lifter, albeit probably too small for something like that.
Looks home made regardless.

Looks like the thing you screw into a car jack to me
If it is from a farm that has a bit of irrigation, I agree that it could be for turning taps on and off. Saves bending down.

I agree with Mudman, I have been at sea for many years as a marine engineer we use these for turning valves (or taps) on and of when they are out of reach
Agree. These things are great for turning the water mains off. Particularly if they are a bit stuck. Beats getting down on your knees in the mud with a shifter.
