Hi all

A new member here. Have had 1st DSLR for approx. 20 months and still really learning. Been trying to really handle manual mode for the last 6 months. Most stuff done in auto prior to that as had no clue about things.

Live near the bay in Brisbane and found that main interests are birds (wife feeds in yard so a number of subjects to practice on) insects/animals - particularly close ups.

Really like to know more about everything really (also flash impacts at night which has always put me off) hence finding a couple of forums.

Looking forward to delving into the forum here.

Harry

You can post your images on the Forums for cc that's a great way to learn, and have a read at what's on this link New To Photography Book (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book)

G'day Harry.
Maybe try aperture or shutter priority as a bridge between full auto and manual.
Anyway, don't be afraid to post photos and ask questions. 'tis what helps us learn and makes forums work.:th3:

Welcome Harry..!!

I only ever shoot in full manual mode these days....mainly due to constant aperture lens. I enjoy full control over my pics. Happy to assist in anyway.:)

Check out my latest 'manual moments' from my day trek yesterday.....just about to post them now.

Rgds,

Thoma.
