A new Pentax K-3 (http://photorumors.com/tag/pentax-k-3/) DSLR camera is rumored to be announced on October 8th in Japan (Monday evening, October 7th in North America). I am still not sure if the previously leaked specifications (http://photorumors.com/2013/09/21/rumors-full-frame-pentax-dslr-k-3-specs-and-a-new-da-18-70mm-f2-8-lens/) are correct. Coincidently, Nikon is also expected to announce (http://nikonrumors.com/2013/09/24/nikon-d610-announcement-on-october-7-8-the-only-known-improvement-for-now-6-fps-continuous-shooting-speed.aspx/) their new D610 camera on the same date.

Looks Very tasty. I'm keen to get my hands on one and see if the new AF module is all it purports to be. Maybe there are some new surprises in store too. I'm curious as to why there have been no images of the rear of the new model...

I was in the market for a Pentax K5 but I am now holding off for the release of the K-3 and will be rushing to get the reviews as soon as they are available. At the suggested price of US$1,300 it is within my price bracket. Hope they hurry up and release it.
