View Full Version : Local CHEAPER then Grey?
I've been looking at the Sigma 70-200 2.8. And unless I've got it wrong (which i suspect I must have) Teds are cheaper then DWI.

Have I missed something? Does this happen usually?

Sigma (Maxwells are the importers) have a grey market matching policy.

CR Kennedy are the importers I think.
They have a 'damaged box with full warranty' ebay store.

SIGMA AUSTRALIAN WARRANTY ON GREY IMPORTS
IMPORTANT - Following changes in policy by SIGMA Japan, SIGMA products purchased in USA, Hong Kong and Singapore are not covered by any warranty valid in Australia.
C.R. Kennedy & Co P/L will only undertake warranty repairs on products sourced through us. All products imported directly from overseas and resold are not covered by our warranty. This includes purchases through eBay or through grey importers such as www.d-d-photographics.com.au, www.DealsDirect.com.au, www.globalmediapro.com, www.photobuff.com.au and www.topbuy.com.au.
Graysonline.com is NOT an authorised Australian SIGMA lens dealer. SIGMA product supplied by Grays online is NOT eligible for Australian 2 year SIGMA warranty.
We have grave concerns that Grays online is not applying GST correctly to these items.
We will attempt to match, through our authorised Sigma dealer network, any legitimate advertised internet price on Sigma lenses by these grey importers.ᅠThese prices do not include traditional pre-sales and after sales service normally given by your local retail store. We suggest that you research the product thoroughly before making any purchase.
You've picked the Sony/Pentax mount. Here's the Nikon/Canon one.

Well I didn't think that I would be purchasing my next lens (and arguably my biggest lens purchase to date) in a store and not online (grey), but that is what I am going to do. Well done Sigma on proving that there are real ways to get consumers back into shops.
