View Full Version : Black Caviar records win #25
Well, despite the trash talking by Sydney based trainers and the connections of Rain Affair stating the gelding would go to the front and challenge BC to catch him, they've ended up with egg on their faces.
In a league of her own, check it out here

They paid $200k for BC and she's earned ~$8million
25-0-0 record, including new course records
She is a once in a lifetime freak

BLACK Caviar extended her unbeaten run to 25
SHE scored her 15th Group 1 win, breaking the record she had shared with Kingston Town
SHE has now won eight Group 1 wins in succession, eclipsing the record previously held by Bernborough that has stood since 1946
SHE was the first to win the TJ Smith Stakes twice
HER prizemoney now vaults over the $8 million barrier, the most won by a sprinter.
... and by the sounds of it she's not done yet! I still think Royal Ascot is a lay down misere for the mare. She was ill when she won last time, forcing her rider to ease up going to the post. They have NO IDEA how good she really is ... yet! You go you black beauty! :p
Go you good thing!!!
I'm not a punter, but I made a point of watching the race, and I'll admit to having slight dampness in the eyes, and a lump in the throat.
What a champion !

I'd take a punt she'll go there next year. She'll race for another 12 months in Australia and finish her career over there next year. :th3:
FWIW another exceptional performance on the day was overshadowed by B.C.. It's A Dundeel's win in the Derby was every bit as impressive. He's a star.

Got that right, Leanne! Glad she's going to stud BUT she loved to run so I hope they've reserved a really BIG paddock for her! :p
She's retiring with grace as a true champion.
I'm so pleased her connections didn't get greedy, and run her into the ground.
