G'day,

I have some Canon gear and a keen interest in photography, although sadly my ambitions are still beyond my ability. But hopefully I can learn enough here to improve.

My kit: I have a Canon 7D camera, and the following lenses: Canon 10-22, Canon 15-85, Canon 50 f/1.8, Canon 85 f/1.8, Canon 70-200 f/4 IS. And a Canon 550EX flash that I found in an op-shop for $7 :-) I had a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS II lens, but replaced with a second-hand 70-200 f/4 IS lens. There was a $1600 difference in price between these two and I think the f/4 is good enough most of the time.

I lived in Utah for a couple of years and so I have a passion for landscape photography, although opportunities are fewer since moving back to Brisbane, which is why I am looking at getting into portraits. I like my 70-200 for this, but you do need a bit of room, which is why I picked up a used 35 f/1.4 L last week. Not sure if I like this lens yet (like my 85 f/1.8, I find it difficult to get shots that have good focus, but that may be my n00b skills).

I wish I had such a set of gears..........

Thanks. I've been lucky in picking most of it up second-hand, saved quite a few bucks. Now I just need to learn how to use it all correctly :)

Although I've never been fond of the 15-85 (a bit soft IMHO) and I might have been dudded on the 85 f/1.8, since I can't seem to get it focusing correctly. But it was only $100.

I'm looking to get a full-frame camera next, not sure which one however: the 5Diii is beyond my budget, a 5Dii would be nice if it comes down in price, and don't know enough about the 6D.
