Hi, this is my first post. I live in western Sydney and have had an interest in photography for a long time but gave up when my old Pentax SLR packed up about 15years ago. I've just invested in a Nikon D5100 digital slr (with twin lens kit) and now realize that I'm a complete beginner so I'm active on the web looking for information and tutorials and that's how I stumbled on this site. My initial goal was just to learn to take better photos: group, portrait, landscapes, etc. but I'm now starting to realize the scope of knowledge required to compose the perfect picture (HDR, Photoshop,etc.). So for now, I prefer to take baby steps and just concentrate on becoming familiar with iso, aperture and shutter speed settings and creating reasonably well exposed images with pleasing composition. Cheers.
