Blue Alert!

Yesterday afternoon, Port Hedland went into Blue Alert as a tropical low (that will develop into a cyclone) became active on the ole forecast maps. This is looking to intensify into a severe tropical cyclone over the next few days - will keep you updated from the front lines, assuming power and telecommunication stay alive!

Should be fine down the Karratha way, the forecast say it will go straight between us and Pardoo a little further north from Port Hedland at the moment

Anyway, what does STOP mean? Red alert?:)

For some reason we're still at Blue alert, though the storm is expected to intensify to category 4 level! Bring on the wind and rain Rusty!!!

Hey Adam ...just saw the latest track map and been reading weatherzone forum.
Hang on to your hat mate, this a scary system and the fact that its going to last for 24 hrs+ is terrifying.
My hearts thumping just remembering Yasi and thinking of you all and what you are about to go through

Thanks Cargo, yeah it's getting a little wild and woolly now with 100km/hr+ winds - it's going to be a long few days. Getting to the office this morning was easy though with the wind to help/fly me there! :D

Been looking on the Bom site early this morning and its nice and swirly there.. Do you tape the glass on those windows.
With all the Cyclones we had in Townsville when I lived there I used to prop in the passage it was the only place with no windows.
Still raining here I am starting to get Cabin Fever..

We have big, screen shutters over windows and double pane, high density glass.

Thanks for all the support guys! The cyclone came, saw and waved goodbye when it passed us by! We dodged a bullet on this one as it tracked further East to the poor old Pardoo roadhouse! :th3:
