Hi all, Im looking for a new computer monitor and narrowed it down to the Dell u2410. Seems to have the specs to better photoshop work on. Just wanted others opinion on if its the right choice or if there is another monitor with similar specs at a cheeper price.prices im finding are between 595-699, all online.(cant actually find a store that sells good ips panel in geelong.) was hoping to spend 400-$500
Cheers

I would consider if you are using and printing your images and working in the sRGB workspace, as reviews have said that whilst the monitor you mention uses a wide colour space, colours may appear too saturated if you are not working in an Adobe RGB colour space. The review site was comparing the U2412M which is also 24 inch, but cheaper. At the moment they have 30% of this monitor, so it's cheap considering it normally goes for $400, now $280.

I have the U2412M - I've been happy with it so far.
Based on the reviews I have read, I don't think you can buy much better in that price range.

I managed to score the Dell u2410 under $400 *removed -read the site rules (3-7)* I had to watch for 2 weeks before one came up though and only 2 where available. Within 10 minutes of being posted to the site, I bought one and the Dell sales person informed me that someone else had just purchased the second one. Now I want a second one :p

Oh, I was waiting for that sale as I thought my ViewSonic 24" monitor was deceased but it turned out the power cable became faulty (haven't had that sort of fault before).

A bit hard to justify spending the dosh now my monitor is working again. The U2412 is fantastic value at 30% off.

I had 2x U2410's and upgraded them both to U3011's, but kept 1x 2410 which I use in the studio. They calibrate well, and are quite sharp. text is crisp. A good value monitor.
