Hello everyone!

I am Miyuki from Modbury (north of Adelaide CBD), SA. I am originally from Japan, and have been living in Adelaide over the last 6 years. Photography runs in my family (over 3 generations), and I was taught photo-taking basics by my father when I was a child. I never took photos seriously until now, but I finally got time to start photography for fun :)

I enjoy macro photos, food photos and occasional landscape photos, especially in black and white. I use Nikon D7000 with Nikkor Micro 105mm f/2.8, Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, and Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5.

I recently started using Adobe Photoshop CS6 as well (got it while I can still get a student discount), but feeling like I am in maze.

I'm a newbie in photography, and hoping to expand my knowledge and skills here:)

Thanks for reading!

I am surprised to see many South Australians here too!

My father has Nikon D70, and I have used it a few times.
Nikon D70 is a good camera, but the picture quality seems better for D7000 (not surprising, considering the resolution of D7000 is much higher than D70).

D7000 has much higher ISO (6,4000 vs 1,600), as so as shutter speed.
As I do low-light photos and macro photos, I like the features of D7000.

Having said that....I heard a rumour that Nikon may be launching a new camera soon (D7100 or D8000 or something). It'd be interesting to see what's coming :)
