Building your own Lightbox

Hi all,

Was just doing some research on creating your own light box and found this interesting link.

I thought I'd share it around as its very simple and achieves a pretty cool result.

I have occasionally "made up" an even simpler one.
If the object is fairly small, just support a sheet of A4 paper (bigger isn't stable)
between some upright surface and a table-top. It forms a natural curve (of some geometric sort)
and you can light is from the two sides.

Somewhere in the dim and distant POSTS I have a shot of a small vase taken thus.

(Seems this is a sort of idea that manifests itself sporadically and independently to such as 'togs
depending on need.)

I do a bit of product stuff here and there for selling stuff on ebay and for work's ecommerce site.

At home I use a roll of paper (It's special 2 foot wide hand towel rolling from a local paper supplier. They use it for disposable bed sheets in surgeries and such) which I drape off a music stand.

For lighting I use the Brocoli box soft box option (a flash shot into a brocoli box with a white scrim over the front) from both sides.

While at work I have a proper light tent available, I still get better results from the brocoli box option ...

I have also made several lightboxes of various sizes. As well as muslin and tissue paper you can also use baking paper which I found works quite well.

The baking paper I tried once tended to leave a slight yellow cast.
