I'm heading OS in December, and my backup body's sensor is FILTHY!
Looking on ebay, all the pec pads and Eclipse fluid seems to be coming from New York or New Jersey.
After the Frankenstorm, you can understand why I'm looking to get some from an Australian supplier now!
Does anyone have experience with an Australian based store for these items?
I'm Brisbane based, so fail that, if anyone is willing to offer their services, or put fourth a supplier I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance guys.
(PS, I did do some googling and went through the AP Site sponsors, and the closest I found was Quality Camera Sales, but they dont' seem to have a telephone number on their site, or a physical address.
Scratch that, it's in the about us section rather then the contact us ....
I will call them now. In the meantime any help would be great.
Edit: Well, that's brilliant! their telephone goes to a fax and the fax is disconnected ....
Second Edit: He hadn't changed the phones over and returned my call promptly.
They have the Pec Pads, but no Eclipse Fluid...

Hmmn.
Seems Jaycar have 99.8% Isopropyl Alcohol ... any thoughts on that?

Yes, don't use rubbing alcohol f or sensor cleaning. Dries way too fast and is prone to streak

Stu at Quality camera in Perth has the pads and applicators normally in stock. His phone number is right at the top of the home page.
Vanbar in Melbourne have pads applicators and fluid generally in stock. Their prices are a little dearer than most though. :(
Try to source it closer to home if you can as the fluid cannot be posted or couriered by air due to the flammability concerns.

There is a gentleman in redcliffe but he is pretty selective. I will see if he will do it. No guarantees though, Otherwise it's the camera manufacturer.

Must places won't sell sell isopropyl alcohol to anyone that walks off the street due to the fact that it is used by drug users as a cleaning agent before they inject themselves. Chemists sell isopropyl swabs but you get a good grilling about it these days. I use isopropyl as part of my business doing fibre optic cabling jointing and it is now a pain in the arse to get. wouldn't use Jaycar for it as it probably is the type that has detergent in it like swabs do. Would smear anything of quality optic value.

And if you cant find any you can come over and use my pec pads and Eclipse fluid I live about 24km to the East of you.

Thanks for the thought mate, but for $90 I could buy an entire cleaning kit including a loupe.
I'd rather pay once and do it myself. No offence Intended I'm sure Gavin would do a better job then me, but like all things photograpic, you have to do it to learn.

at 99.8% I don't see how they could get any detergent in it? The MSDS says it's pure alcohol.
For $6 I may just get some and test it out on my bathroom mirror or something. :confused013
