Hiya everyone :)

Thanks for letting me join the Forums here, I look forward to learning a lot and also trying to put back into the Community :)

I don't have any SLR Camera Equipment just yet, just a Waterproof Pentax Compact and a Sony Cybershot 10x Zoom Camera with Vari-Angle Lens.

As this is my first DSLR, I was trying to decide between a Canon 7D and the Nikon D7000.......well I bought a 16GB Sandisk SD Extreme Card today, so it looks like I will be going ahead with a Nikon D7000. LOL :) (as the 7D only takes CF cards)

Cheers all :)
Don (DNB)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :)

haha, yer, it is a weird way of deciding on a brand, by buying the Memory Card first LOL

However, I am now re-thinking my decision on the D7000 after seeing a few more Reviews etc.....so I may still be going Canon 7D, as I am very wary about the D7000 having the well known issues of Oil Marks on the Sensor, Back Focus issues etc. I know that not all D7000's will have these issues, but I have not heard of any genuine problems with the 7D straight of the box, like the D7000 has.

Anyway, I am not here to argue over the old battle of which is better Canon or Nikon LOL....... I am just looking forward to learning from my new DSLR (and from these Forums hehe), which ever one I end up getting :)

Cheers :)
Don

Canon or Nikon? either are a good choice ... go down to Gerry Gibbs at Carousel and ask for a demo.

I dont have the card problem, my camera uses both :)
