If you lost a camera with a roll of exposed film in it would police have gone to the lengths of developing the prints to identify (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-08-17/cat-collar-clue-helped-return-lost-camera-to-owner/4205176) you?

No way.. Developing prints cost money but then so does time to find the owner..
Though its good to know they will go that extra bit, what happens if you dont have a pet with a tag on amongst the images..

Perhaps in line with the post that Ross made (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showthread.php?108995-Lost-my-cf-card), you could always have a text file with your name and phone number on any card that you have in the camera.
Or even include it in the exif fields on cameras that have the facility.

^ that's a great idea i might do that.

of course you're always reliant on peoples good will but if you make it a bit easier maybe your chances improve.
