Hello! How are you?

My name is Pobbs, and I'm relatively new to "proper photography". I own a Canon 550D with the twin lens, which gets carried around on a black rapid or is mounted on a tripod.

Still trying to download * removed, please read site rules 3-7*, but at 2GB, it's a bit of a mission.

I have just bought a Hoya set, having had a chance to try it out yet, but I do quite like macro photography, and hopefully one day I can bring myself to part with a dedicated macro lens. Being a motorbike rider who also loves shoes and bags, I'm afraid my habits are all expensive!

Would love some tips or even website suggestions on how to use the Hoya.

Last weekend I had a bit of a crack at motion blur.

I own an iPad and have a few photo editing apps on there too [Photoshop Express and Photoshop Touch] which I love to tinker with.

I'm looking forward to my enlightenment!

Welcome aboard, Pobbs! Hmmm ... shoes, bags, motorbikes and digital cameras ... I hope you've got a great paying job!!! :p A good place to start is the New to Photography book (http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/showlibrary.php?title=Indexes:New_To_Photography_Book) in the Library (link at the top of the screen). There are plenty of people willing to help out here, so jump right in, post some photos and enjoy the community. :th3:

Clearly I meant part with hard earned cash for a dedicated macro lens! *slaps forehead*

I do have a well paying job! But also two kids, a partner who rolls his eyes at my expensive habits (no one mention shoes, okay? Shhh) and private school fees...

I'm happy to post some photos. Scared of critique!

Welcome aboard Pobbs.
A lot of people don't read the introductions, so maybe post your question about the Hoya set here ...... http://www.ausphotography.net.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?32-Camera-Lens-Gear-Talk
Reckon there's plenty of learning and a little fun to be had here.
Shhhoes, shoes, shoes, shoes, shhh. :D
