Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM
Has any one used one or own one and if so did/do you like it and what kind of results did you achieve? do they have good clarity nice and sharp focus etc?
I am thinking of buying one as an interim for my D800 until I get my good nikon one and then pass it on to my daughter.
Cheers Peter

I was going to buy this one AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/4G ED VR, but I will see how much the 800 will be when I am ready (this time next year)

Dagnabbit!!!! Call the forum cops, someone has said good and Nikon in the same sentence!!!! :confused013:clogo::lol::lol:
Sorry, hard to resist. I have the 50-500 on a canon mount and whilst it has not been plain sailing I cannot complain too much. Seems to work well on large targets but I cannot get good results birding <yet> and I will be humble and say that is likely down to my technique rather than the lens.

I have the 150-500 on my 7D canon and am impressed with it's performance to date. I use it for birds, wildlife and sports both football and motor sport.

I have this lens & have found it quite good on my Pentax K7 Up to 400mm. It is very good particularly at f9.5 but technique has to be good. Hand held at longer zoom needs at least 1/500 sec. I find. I recommend catch-in-focus to help sharpness.

Hi scheery. I might be a bit slow here, what does "catch -in-focus" mean:confused013

#1 A great lens for this.
#2 No comparison, so much better.
Here is a football shot at 500mm, F8, ISO100, 1/350th with my 7D/150-500 combination.
