Newbie and partner with asperations

Hi I'm interested in learning more about photography. I've been using digital since they first came out my first compact was a 600k mp from dick smith. I've upgraded a few times and now have a 1dx on order which will hopefully not be too far away from arriving. I'm interested in all kinds of photography espectially landscape and sport and my partner is into baby portrait work.
