Just got access to a new 550D (My son got one for his birthday the family chipped in, He's doing media studies at school ) Well seeing I'm a major shareholder in the new camera , I've been having a play with Video, ( My sons into BMX) This is new to me, First I read on the 180deg thingy, Where the rule is to double the Frame/per sec theory 24fs means to shoot the video at a shutter speed of 1/50th , Apparently with the 550D you can shoot in manual and take shots just like taking a still shot, If your starting out in Video shooting. This Video is really worth watching , Especially at the end of the clip they play the Clip they made with an overlay of lenses used and full details of The triangle A,S,I : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uarLndKX38, I've been mucking around with the 24-105 f4 L on  Really good clean sharp images @ between 1/60 - 1/250th shutter speed , Up to ISO400 and f stops from f8-f16 for depth of field , Gunna have a play with the 50mm 1.8 soon , Best thing as far as focus is to set the scene up and pre focus in manual on the lens first for that shot , I'll stop now , Think I have the bug  PS : Here's another really good video , Especially for 7D and 550D owners : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYTMK1VTXNI Hope this helps someone - Cheers Bill :)

The latest Video filmed and edited by my 15yr old son William on his 550D with the non IS 18-55 kit lens

Shot in manual 60fs, shutter speed 1/125th sec, f11, Auto ISO , I think he did a top job on this , Hope you enjoy :PS, :( Something happened on the upload and it looks all jumpy , Dunno why because it's not , It's nice and smooth, Anybody got any ideas why this has happened ?

Looks pretty bloody good to my inexperienced eye.
You may have a budding film maker in the wings.
