I watched the Moon rise over the ocean last night at 9.12pm and what a sight it was being a first for me it was amazing so big and orange and it rose fast changing to a yellow colour then as it rose higher changed to the silver white colour and the reflecting over the ocean was so beautiful.. I have tried for three nights to shoot this scene with no luck at all. I dont have any problems shooting the Moon by itself where the craters are visible.
Holidaying at Yamba NSW I have both cameras and these lenses with me.
5D Mk 11, 24-105mm f/4, 300mm f/4 + 1.4 extender and of course a macro lens
40D 17-55mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f.4.
Could someone please help me by letting me know what settings and lens should I use to shoot the Moon over the Ocean and get the reflection in that scene also.. Thank You..
I have never taken any night scenes before only the moon itself and I googled for two nights and cannot find the answer I want. With the Moon getting smaller every night and I only have three nights left as by Sunday it does not rise till 12.12am and what I want to shoot happens around one hour after that.
